[Interviewer] Why did they arrest you?
We destroyed everything, burned buses, attacked policemen...
...yes, everything was to destroy.
[Interviewer] Any other actions besides destroying?
We wanted to break down the government.
[Interviewer] Who recruited you?
Some of those who call themselves "revolutionaries".
Abo Abed, Abo Mohammad, Abo Sbehe.
One of them wanted to create his own revolution and he wanted to recruit us.
[Interviewer] From the beginning, explain what you have done.
One of those people came to us and said, "Next Friday in Khalid Ibn Alwaled Mosque we're going to start a demonstration"
"and afterward we're going to take it further. God help us! Ready?"
So I said, "Yes, I'm ready. But in order to take it further we need weapons. Without weapons it won't work."
So they brought us weapons. And we fought against police with the weapons.
[Interviewer] What did you do on the first day?
The first day we stole a government bus, burnt it...
...and we wanted to go to the police department of Lattakia to kill the policemen and take their weapons.
[Interviewer] How many of you were there?
The bus was full.
We stole the government bus in order to get into the police department by surprise without them suspecting anything.
That was our plan...
[Repeats his plan to ambush police station]
[Interviewer] Then what happened?
On the way the other armed revolutionaries didn't know I was coming to pick them up.
They thought I was from the police, so they fired at me.
[Interviewer] And then?
I changed direction near the bridge, then I parked the bus.
[Interviewer] Which bridge was that?
The one near the train station.
I parked the bus and I had jugs of gas with me. So I threw it on and lit it up, and God help us!
[Interviewer] Then you burnt the bus?
Yes.
[Interviewer] Then what did you do?
Then we burnt the train station. We ignited Molotov cocktails and threw them at the train station.
[Interviewer] Anything else?
We finished that and went into the residential districts and burnt tires and set up blockades.
[Interviewer] Did you carry any weapons with you?
Yes.
[Interviewer] What kind of weapons?
A pistol 9-14, another pistol 8 1/2, an automatic gun.
[Interviewer] Who gave them to you?
One of the revolutionaries.
[Interviewer] How did they convince you to join them?
I don't understand anything about politics or about ruling I don't understand any of that,
but the truth is that I was wanted for fleeing a sentence of five years in prison and a fee of 500,000 Syrian Pounds.
When the revolutionary came to me he said, "Are you ready to join us, Abo Nazer?" I said, "Sure, I'm the one who's ready!"
It came from God: the five-year sentence and the fee would go away! And that's what happened.
[Interviewer] How was the demonstration?
They say it was peaceful so that nobody would arrest them but it wasn't peaceful.
[Interviewer] When all of you went to demonstrate, did you carry weapons?
Yes, I was armed. And they were armed.
[Interviewer] Did you use the weapons? And if so, against whom?
Yes I did.
We fired at the police and the army, because we wanted to kill them.
[Interviewer] The picture we found on your cell phone - is that picture of you?
Yes. While I was fighting and shooting. We wanted to kill them.
