Hello, I want to express to you as a member of the European parliament my complete moral
outrage at the massacre that occurred on the first of September in camp Ashraf. For years
people have been warning that such an attack would take place. And sadly for years,
we ignored that advice. The reality is horrific. The deaths of ordinary men and women young,
old, some of them in firm, some of them destroyed in the hospital unit.
These lives can never be taken back by their families.
But what we can do is make sure that such an atrocity
never happens again. The seven hostages that are currently still being held that the Iraqi
authorities, will still not be clear about, will still not admit that they hold, Our love
and our support must be with them. They must be returned to their families and their friends
in Camp Liberty. If Liberty is to mean anything and therefore all of you, families, friends,
supporters who are making this amazing sacrifice of going on hunger-strike my thought and the
thoughts of other parliamentarians are with you. Our solidarity is with you. And I give
you this promise because it's the promise that history has shown us, that in the end
you will win. That justice and decency and fairness, will be yours to taste, to hold
and to embrace amongst your families and your community. Thank you.
