Interviewer: You are, it seems, as we were just talking about, the new
head of what used to be the Monroe Militia.
Giancarlo Esposito: Yeah, it seems like I'm taking over.
I always wanted that M to become an N and always exciting when the possibility
exists. It looks that way, but I think we're now in a world where
we're really trying to survive, when we begin season two.
All hell has broken loose. Although Neville is poised to take over,
it may be a period of time before he's able to really allow that to happen.
His enemies may not be who you think they are.
Interviewer: Will the electricity be on for good as we go into season
two?
Giancarlo: We hope and we want that to happen, but I honestly doubt it. I
think it's more complicated than that. I think it's interesting that it has
come on and it has the ability to come back on. Some circuitry has to be
fixed first.
Interviewer: What news will they come back with? News about that
there's a president in Guantanamo Bay and/or the nukes are hitting some
cities?
Giancarlo: I think you're going to get all that news. All of the above.
Guantanamo Bay, that there is a president around, that there are nukes that
have been activated, and you're going to come into a world like that you've
never seen before. It's not the world of 'Revolution' in the first season.
It's turning all that on its head. I'm pleased with that because we
have a new city to work in. We have new characters coming in and we lose
some people. Some people die that we and the audience may have been
attached to. It's an exciting way to begin.
Interviewer: My final question. If you were given the opportunity to
write your character as you wanted to, would you want to get in touch with
the new president and give him, or with the current president and give him
an update, as what has been happening, as a new leader?
Giancarlo: As Tom Neville, yeah, I would want to get in touch with him but
I would be questioning who he is? I would be questioning whether or not he
was real. I would be wary that he didn't have some culpability in what's
happening.
