I swear that one day I'll get so angry with these Rheem furnace problems, that I'll smash
it pieces!
Whoa there, sounds like someone's having a case of the Mondays! I am surprised your Rheem
furnace is giving you problems, most clients have very good experiences. In fact, issues
are pretty rare.
Maybe I just got unlucky. Are you saying that there is no cons to a Rheem?
Well, some users have complained about the noise. However, this is one of the most reliable
brands on the market.
Well, I'm pretty upset, since I don't know what's wrong with my furnace. The flame pulls
back from the heat exchanger, and I need heat in my house ASAP.
Oh, well, you should know there are a few things that may cause that to happen, and
one of the first things to do is check and see if the filters are clean. Also, what kind
of burners do you have?
I have no idea.
Burners are cone or ribbon FYI, but other than that you should also find out if your
burner is laying on its side, or standing upright and also its age.
A lot of things to keep in mind I see.
My opinion is that you should inspect your burners, and use a toothbrush, or anything
of the sort to clean them, but do it really carefully. You don't want to break the hot
surface igniter.
That sounds interesting.
Another thing is that you may have a spider's nest in the jet, which gets to push the gas
into the burner. Taking it out is a bit hard and you need an orifice bit to clean it.
That sounds nasty.
It does, yet I think that it might also be that a section of the heat exchanger has some
soot built in that needs to be cleaned properly.
I see. Troubleshooting my Rheem furnace problems does not seem too difficult.
Lastly, just check your gas valve and see if it opens completely when you engage it.
This sounds like a lot of fun for me, so I'd better get to work and see if I can fix it.
Don't mention it.
Oh, one last thing: Can you tell me anything else about the most common problems people
have with this furnace?
Well, in my experience a few people have said they are disappointed the new generation of
furnaces doesn't have the long life the old models used to have. That's all I know.
Thanks a lot for the tips!
My pleasure!
