My strengths and my weaknesses...
I think my biggest strength was the customer service experience. I was experienced in
customer service and this has helped me a lot.
Respect and calm attitude; I needed to speak with people who were already there for twenty
years and they were much older than me, so I needed to respect them; I needed to talk
with them in a very nice and polite way, so this was
very important. I was very welcomed and I would so
nice to them and speak well to them. Reliability; the HR Director said that this
was my main strength because he could always count on me.
At the beginning I was working from 9 to 5, then sometimes we needed to work from 9 to
6 or 9 to 8 so he knew that if I could, I would stay and
do my things and he could always count on me.
If it was Saturday or Sunday and he needed me, I would go.
Communication; empowerment, take decisions. Sometimes I needed to take decisions, I couldn't
wait for the HR Director. I cannot ask, when there is a situation in
the middle of the corridor; I needed to do something.
Attention to detail, hard working, common sense and to be genuine, I think this was
my main strength. Weaknesses; shyness. In the beginning it was
hard to be in front of so many people and sometimes talk to them.
Staff knowledge. It was hard, sometimes, to know the name of everyone, but I think in
a month I did basically know everyone's names. Cos I needed to. I
needed to know their names, their department, what they were doing, everything.
Technology information; sometimes working with sound was a bit hard for me. I would
just call an engineer person. "Please can you come and help me" [laughs]
Overworked at times; sometimes everything happened at the same time and it's hard to
prioritise but I would have a note and I would put some boxes in the front.
Whenever I needed to do something I would just tick, just tick, just tick
and I would know what to do next. Emotional feelings; you connect to people
after one year. You really meet nice people and
good friends and sometimes it's hard when they're going or when you need to talk to
them in a different way. It's complicated to separate them.
My Final reflection; throughout my placement I have learnt so much about work, people and
about life. I have met so people and overcome so many
difficult situations that I thought I could never do.
I have accepted responsibility and have developed skills such as work professionalism,
that will always go with me through my professional life.
I have had so much fun, I was so welcome and I gained a lot of experience.
There are moments I'll never forget, I'm so happy that I have done it.
