It is Wednesday, 13 May 2009 and our favourite Minecraft game is starting to take shape as
yet unnamed cave game presented by a guy with a nickname of Nizzotch on YouTube. The video
immediately draws about 50,000 views to it and outlines the creation of something truly
extraordinary in the world of gaming.
This is Zathrus Writer and you are watching a new series of Minecraft videos called back
to roots, featuring some earliest versions of Minecraft as shown on notches YouTube account,
then picking up from the indev version trying to build a little something from the ground
up presenting the news and features implemented into Minecraft as they appeared in pre-alpha,
alpha and beta versions.
In other words, I will be bringing some nostalgy for your eyes and ears remembering all those
beautiful water and ladder glitches that allowed us for strangest creations climbing all the
way up to the latest prereleases of this game and putting a period behind the series with
a review of the latest and greatest first stable production version of Minecraft 1.0
During this initial speech of mine, you can see notches progress on the game up to a point
when the first indev version dated 23 February 2010 was released to the public for testing.
In these videos I will be using mcnostalgia's binary patches to bring my Minecraft version
all the way from version 1.8.1 down to indev version from 23 February 2010, and gradually
upgrading it to show you the changes this game went through during its childhood.
I hope these series will bring fun and memories to some players that have been with Minecraft
all along from its early stages.
So have fun guys enjoy the rest of this video and I am looking forward to see what we can
build up from the ground using one of the oldest versions of Minecraft that are available
to us. Take care and until I hear from you again - adios.
