>> Good morning…
>> Good morning, Matilda Rossi, it's a pleasure to meet you Mrs Jenkins.
>> How do you do? Please take a seat.
>> Yes Thanks!
>>It's quite a rainy day outside, isn't it?
>>Yes, luckily the bus stop is quite near to your place. I must say, your café is really pretty.
>>Thank you, we like working here… Now, let’s see. You’ve come to interview for the position of waitress, haven’t you?
>>Yes, I read your ad, and I think I’d be ideal for the position.
>>Can you give me an explanation for this?
>>I’m looking for a job that will definitely use my knowledge and skills in the dining area.
>>Well, now let's go over your CV. Could you begin by telling me about your previous job?
>>Certainly. I worked as a waitress at a small restaurant in my town in southern Italy, here is my reference letter.
>>Thanks. And what did you do before that?
>>Before that, I attended a regional course for sommeliers.
>>Well, I see you have done well. Can you give me some more details about your responsibilities as a waitress?
>>Yes, I was in charge of the wine list.
>>Interesting.
>>Is there anything particular you feel would be useful here at Le Pain du Jour?
>>I understand that you are introducing Italian wines into your wine list.
>>Yes, that's correct.
>>I think that my experience in serving wines and offering suggestions to customers in Italy, along with the knowledge acquired during the sommelier course, might prove very useful.
>>Yes, that makes sense.
>>What difficulties and challenges do you think we might run into?
>>Well, I think it might take some time before your customers get used to order Italian wines in a café with a French name, as this is a new product you are introducing as a match with Italian antipasti.
>>Would you mind giving me a bit more details on that?
>>Sure ... if the customers’ interest in ordering Italian wines is not stirred by offering suggestions, they might go on ordering just coffee or French wines or beer with Italian dishes.
>>You are right, that’s exactly the point we have to focus on............ Let’s now go further. What do you think are the benefits of working in a team?
>> I think the greatest benefit is the possibility of learning from others. It’s also more fun, and you can help each other in difficult situations.
>>Can you tell me about a difficult situation you have had to face?
>>Once a customer asked me about a wine that was not on the list and which I did not know. So, I went to our restaurant manager and asked for the proper information.
>> Yes, that was the right thing to do. What is the most important lesson you’ve learnt throughout your career?
>>The most important lesson is that of always being friendly and keeping calm. I have also learned that I have to be organized and try to make the customer happy.
>>What unique skills do you have?
>>I have skills in flower arrangement, I am very good at folding napkins in many different ways, I can prepare a perfect espresso. I have a basic knowledge in cocktail mixing and I can deliver an excellent service to guests.
>>Why did you leave your previous job?
>>I wanted to disinguish myself by gaining work experience abroad; I also wanted to improve my language skills and learn more about another country, its way of life, its customs.
>>Great. Where can we contact you, Miss Rossi?
>>At the mobile phone number or e-mail address stated on my CV.
>>Thank you very much. You will hear from us soon.
>>Thank you, good-bye.
