It takes the train about two minutes to reach the Del Mar Station. The train crosses two
busy intersections, East California Boulevard and East Del Mar Boulevard. And one pedestrian
crossing at the Del Mar Station. It’s very important for cars to wait until they are
certain that there is enough room for them to travel across the tracks without getting
stuck waiting for the intersection to clear. These two streets can be very busy.
We need you to wait behind the keep clear line until you’re absolutely certain that
you can cross without having to stop on the tracks. Every day, we see people who put themselves
and their passengers in danger by allowing themselves to get stuck waiting on the tracks
because they didn’t wait behind the limit line. Pedestrians need to make sure that they
do not cross the tracks at Del Mar Street if they hear the bells and see the signals.
The train leaving the station southbound cannot see you around the buildings.
Pedestrians should not cross the tracks at the Del Mar Station when the train is coming.
If you hear the bells and see the signals, wait here until the train passes by. It takes
less than a minute for the train to pass. There are 600 park and ride spaces at the
Del Mar Station. It costs $5.00 a day, and you can enter the underground lot on either
South Arroyo Parkway or on South Raymond Avenue.
