Hi, I'm Stan Defreitos, "Mr. Green Thumb". One of the herbs Lamb's Ear is one that you
might wish to have as a pretty ornamental. It can also, of course, can be used for it's
herb as well. You can break off the leaves and use it around some of the dishes as a
garnish. Lambs ear is going to have a plant that flowers usually during the early summer.
It takes full sun to partial shade. You'll normally put them about 6 to 8 inches apart
and you're going to plant it in a good peaty, loamy-type soil. Make sure it's got some perlite,
something for drainage. Maybe some builder's sand. Usually about a third, a third, a third
if you are mixing up your own soil of peat, perlite, and builder's sand will make a nice
herb mix. This Lamb's Ear is one that will make a nice addition in the backyard landscape
if you give it full sun to partial shade. Make sure it does get watered on a regular
basis. As far as time release, maybe every two to three weeks. Or, you might wish to
mix in a time release fertilizer right at the beginning of planting time. It's one that
you'll have throughout the season and one that you might want to add to your lawn and
landscape in backyard gardening. For On Gardening, I'm Stan Defreitas, "Mr. Green Thumb".
