Hey, everyone! I'm Jonathan and this is my intro video. I'll also be using it as an audition
video for an ftm collaboration channel.
So, I guess I should tell you all a bit about myself. I just turned 22. I'm from the East
Bay in California. I go to school near LA. I'm a music composition major and a computer
science minor. I have one more year of school until I'm done with my undergrad degree.
I'm spending the summer in Ohio. I've never been to Ohio before. It's pretty cool. I got
here about a month ago. I found a summer job. I work at Stride Rite. The manager knows I'm
trans because I haven't legally changed anything yet, but other than that I'm stealth, which
I'm enjoying. I know it isn't for everyone, but it's what I want at least at work for
right now this summer. The manager is totally cool. He doesn't care as long as I do my job
correctly and well.
On Saturday I went to Columbus Pride. That was pretty fun. I'm glad I went. I went with
a friend that I met on tumblr. Because I'm new here, I don't really know anyone. He's
cool and his friends are cool. I was shirtless for the whole two hours of the parade. It
was my first time topless in public. I had top surgery just over three months ago in
San Francisco with Dr. Curtis Crane who took over for Dr. Brownstein. I'm really happy
with the results. I'm working on helping the scars fade and stuff. Pride was fun.
What else would people want to know about me? I have an amazing girlfriend. She goes
to school with me. We've been together a year and nine months I guess, yeah. She's spending
the summer in DC so I haven't seen her since my birthday a couple weeks ago. It's really
not very far from here. It's like seven hours. I'll go visit her in a couple weeks.
What do I do? I rock climb a lot. I also play guitar and a few other instruments, but mostly
guitar.
Transition-wise, I started testosterone gel on June 20, 2012, the day before the Trans
Pride Parade [Trans March] in San Francisco that year. And my one year on testosterone
was the day before the Columbus Pride Parade this year. I have since switched to injectable
testosterone because it is cheaper for me. I'm currently injecting 50mg per week subcutaneously.
I'm under the care of the Los Angeles Children's Hospital. They're really great.
What else about me? I work at my school's *** Resource Center. Last year I worked
on the Socials Team, which means I planned social events for *** people, which is fun.
And I also worked on the Ally Training Project Team. So I set up trainings to teach people
to be better allies to *** people. And this coming year I will be a co-head mentor for
the ***, Questioning, Allied Mentor Program. Basically I set up events for mentors and
mentees. I also make the pairings. And I check in with everyone weekly to make sure they're
adjusting well to being *** and/or allied in college. And it's a great job.
I have a dog. She's amazing. She's 80 pounds. She's white with black spots. Her name's Mitzi.
She'll be 9 years old on the 4th of July.
I guess that's about it. I'm totally open to answering people's questions. Bye, everyone!
