Hello, internet. Once again, it's VictorLighty here. And I'm happy.
But before I explain why I'm happy I'm gonna clear a few other things.
Some people were asking why I've stopped making videos.
Well, the answer is: I haven't. I had a few problems here and there with another video, but now there's no excuse.
After all, this thing in front of me is a package straight from Japan with the game リライト/Rewrite, from developer Key,
which is kind of a spiritual sucessor to "Little Busters!"
But now, why the hell am I happy?
Simple: this 115,00 US$ game (the same price as "LB!")
WASN'T TAXED!
(believe it: I'd rather go to Japan and buy the game in there than get taxed on Brazil. It's that bad.)
Yeah, I actually thought it happened due to the fact I asked for it to be gift-wrapped,
but now I see that's not the reason. I wonder if I got lucky or something...
Well whatever, the game being here is all that matters. My lucky escape from the 60% taxes was a plus.
So, without further ado, let's open it already!
Straight from Japan, I bought it from J-List.com, exactly like I did with "Little Busters!" previously.
I aways recommend this website for everyone who wants to buy stuff from Japan (visual novels, cosplay accessories, etc.)
It's a great store, I'd really reccomend you to check it out if you're looking for this kind of thing.
Looks like I'll need to open it a little more...
And, here it is! リライト is the fifth big franchise from Key (if I'm correct),
after Kanon, Air, Clannad and Little Busters!.
Recently, they have released a fan-disc to it on Japan, which is kinda like a sequel,
except it's story doesn't have much depth when compared to the original.
This one's the original game. It's currently being translated by "Amaterasu Translations" (thank you, guys! :D),
they are already on 25% of the translation progress (as of 24/07/2012)
and I'm gonna depend on them if I ever want to play/read it. I can't read Japanese yet, you know.
Well then, here we go.
I'm gonna open the game now, but just like I did with "Little Busters",
let's give a quick look to the game's cover.
As you can see, we have the six main heroines here on the front.
This time, no male characters around here.
That's the Key logo, and this time they actually added the game's age rating.
Don't know if you can see it, but it's written "FOR ALL AGES".
In other words, no Hentai included, as it's a game completely based on story-telling,
just like Little Busters once was (...then "Ecstasy" came and screwed it all up, but that's a story for another day.)
Here is the game's logo, the compatible systems and a mysterious sticker (that I once thought it was the age rating)
Some more logos here and there,
The backcover is your usual video game backcover.
There's some text in here (that I can't read ;_:),
a few in-game pictures and CGs...
Hmm... Looks like there's some RPG stuff here...
...Anyway, I don't know *anything* about this game,
I'm planning to read it without any previous knowledge of it.
I don't know the character's names, I don't know the plot, I literaly know nothing about it.
I actually blind bought it, as I don't know what to expect from it.
I haven't even read a review. I just want it to amaze me.
(Of course, it will actually depend on Amaterasu too, since they're the ones translating the novel.)
Well, let's open it now.
This is gonna be my second time doing a "surgical operation",
but that doesn't mean I can be any careless.
Don't want any damage on it.
And now...
..the seal was broken.
The cover's consistency is very similar to the Little Busters'.
They've probably used the same cover model to it,
so if I'm right, it opens right here - and I was!
Let's see what we have in here...
As expected, there are some pamphlets inside.
Since I can't read them, let's leave them right there.
That's a Technical Manual. This one a little prettier than Little Busters',
as it's in blue 'n' white instead of black 'n' white (...yeah, big difference.)
Let's take a look on the Instructions Booklet.
This time it's written like a Manga, from right to left.
...Wow. It's actually very nicely done!
It has character-exclusive pages, and just look at how many characters are there!
Looks like there's some kind of short story in here,
and look what we have here: Black 'N' White Pages, the Comeback! (...really? -.-')
There are some pictures too - unfortunately, they're all in grayscale.
And here's the rest of the booklet, with instructions and such.
Overall, it's a fine manual with few pictures, but with really nice character pages.
However, the pages' material are very high-end, as they're the same one found on the cover.
(unlike the Little Busters' one, which has crappy newspaper paper.)
And last, but not least, we have the game disc - or rather, the game disc*s*! What a surprise!
So Rewrite was actually split into 2 DVDs, huh?
Well, I'm not gonna open both of them right now since I'm lazy,
but here's a closer look.
This time, the discs are even prettier than your average DVDs, since
they have a shiny texture on them, just like those rare Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh cards.
In this regard, point for Key for making these awesome DVDs.
Well, that's pretty much everything I've got to show here.
This was a Rewrite unboxing made by me, VictorLighty.
I spent more money on it than in your average game,
so I really hope it'll be as good as Little Busters or other Key titles -
- and looks like I'm gonna find out pretty soon, as Amaterasu is translating it at lightspeed.
So thanks again, Amaterasu staff, for translating the game! (≧▽≦)/~~ありがとう!
I'd also like to thank J-List for selling Rewrite for a reasonable price.
Well then, that's it! See you next time!
Beware, Little Busters! Rewrite is planning to take your throne!
