Now we need a way to seal the back to the picture frame itself. So the way I do this,
I'm going to be using some metal fasteners, the easiest way to close up the two pieces
of cardboard. And, before I do that, I'm going to have to make some points on the picture
frame as to where I'm going to make the holes, and where I'm going to put the fasteners inside.
Now the reason why I'm going to be using the fasteners is because they can open up and
close easily. So, therefore, I can change the picture any time I want. I just open up
the fastener and take off the back. So I make my points. I'm going to be making four points,
one on each side of the picture frame. And once I have those points I go and take a sharp
object, I'm using an X-acto knife, and make a hole. And that will be the point where I
can insert the gold metal fasteners.
Even though the gold metal fasteners are going to be covered up with some masking tape and
some regular color paint, I don't want to put too many because it makes it harder to
do the project having to cover them all up. So I just put one on each side. And it's also
important to note that the hole should not be too big. You want, the paper has a tendency
to widen after the fastener is put in. So you don't want to make it too wide. You just
want to make a small hole to give enough of an opening that you can insert the fastener.
Then once it's in it will fit nice and snug and you can go ahead and open and close the
other end as the ends of the fastener separate. And, therefore, you'll be able to separate
the two pieces of cardboard and insert the picture. So I've now shown you how to make
your four points along the picture frame and make holes so that you'll be able to insert
the metal fasteners.
