I got asked the question, "How do I hold a pick?" "What are some of the ways to hold a pick?"
Well, I thought about it, and I dont think there is just one way.
So, I wanted to break out some more picks! I love playing with my picks! We've got all different
kinds of sounds. Try listening to your guitar picks. Listen to what they sound like.
They are all going to be a different tone. If you try listening... (take two)
I got asked, "How do you use your guitar pick?", "How do you use it in your fingers?", "How do you hold the guitar pick?"
I would recommend experimenting with every pick that you can find.
Get 'em all out. Try everything that you have. Experiment. Try listening! Everything is going to sound different.
Everything is going to be a different weight, a different mass, it's going to be
a different tone. Some picks you may hold differently. You may catch yourself holding
them the wrong way. Which, you know, there is no wrong way. Because, if it works for you,
then that's what works! Try just a little bit sticking out on the bottom. Just a little bit.
If that doesn't work, try a lotta-bit! You know, whatever you want! Here is a pick
that kinda has a groove in it--forces you to put your thumb in a certain place.
The best thing is I found, use your fingers. Try to finger pick the first time you jump on a guitar.
Listen to what your fingers sound like first and then incorporate a pick later.
