Erik: What do you find most challenging about working post-production on a major television
network show?
Tricia: I mean you have to listen to what people say, and often what people say is really
helpful, but I don’t like showing people stuff till him really stuck and say, “Okay,
I’ve done the most I can with this, tell me what you think.” And I feel like that’s
a purer form of working but in television, honestly there is not the time. You know I
mean I worked two weeks on a cut for an act with my editor and then our two superiors
came in and looked at it and had pages of notes and it was crushing. But the truth is
we would have arrived at most of them in another two weeks and instead, “Bam” It’s done.
It’s practical and it’s they way it works and the show I’m working for now is an excellent
show and excellent people are working for it. It’s not a crazy place. There aren’t
egos. It’s not cut throat. It’s just professionals doing their jobs and I have to respect it
and I do respect that. And I do respect that.
