Hi, I’m Stephanie with www.cableorganizer.com, and I want to talk to you about a couple of
the differences between our light, medium, and heavy duty cord protectors. These are
a few that we carry at Cable Organizer, and I want to go through the different types and
what they’re used for. For light duty, I have a couple different
examples; there are two different types. There are ones like these, the Safcord, that do
not protect the cable itself, but secures it to the floor to prevent from tripping.
The Safcord and the tunnel tape are really good for that.
The other version we have is the plastic cord cover, or the rubber duct. These are made
out of a PVC material or a rubber material. They will protect the cable. There’s a channel
in here that’s usually slit or unslit and you can feed it through. It’s going to protect
the cable along with keeping it close to the floor, preventing from tripping hazards. Those
are the light duty cord covers. Next we have the medium duty cord covers.
Most of these are drop over, which means they have an open bottom with channels. They simply
sit on top of the cables. The difference between these and the light duty is these can take
a lot more weight. They can take heavy foot traffic, carts, forklifts, golf carts, and
that type of thing. They’re usually rated up to a few hundred pounds and they can withstand
rugged use. A lot of them also have dog bone connectors on the ends so that they can be
secured to each other to create long lengths of cable protection. Those are the medium
duty cord covers. Lastly we have the high density or the heavy
duty cord covers. This one here is the Yellow Jacket. The biggest difference with these
is with most of them the cables or hoses sit in the channel. They have a full bottom, three,
four, or five channels, and they have a lid that protects the top of them. They usually
are sloped down the sides and this is great for vehicular traffic going over no problem.
The Yellow Jacket or the Checkered Guard Dog types of cord covers are perfect for high
density or heavy duty applications. Be sure to check out all of our cord covers
