La Sylphide who I would say is one of the most famous female figures in the
classical ballet and it's a very interesting libretto that is explaining
about a young Scotsman called James who is going to marry a girl. Effie is an
attractive beautiful young girl but he known her all the time and he hasn't
seen anything else. I'm sure he's been what can you say decided to marry for
about maybe 20 years ago or something like that.
We believe that the Sylph which is appearing for James the first time on
his wedding day and we believe that he's actually she's actually in his mind and
probably he's having these forbidden dreams or thoughts the Sylph is creating
being this beautiful beautiful creature that appears in front of him and I think
it might be something he's been dreaming about instead of having Effie and eight
children and sitting with tobacco in his pipe you know in the afternoon and
that's how life goes on the next 50 years
then he's dreaming about something else something more dangerous maybe and that
I think is making the Sylphide so interesting but if you're catching a
dream what happens if you catch a dream the dream dies or the dream ends because
then it is no longer a dream so that is probably where where I am in my
speculation about the psychological side about La Sylphide.
