Let us now take a look at how to record a drill. As you can see I've prepared two lines and two yellow cones.
This is a classical goalie warmup drill that probably everyone has used or done before.
We start by inserting a keyframe, where on the timeline isn't important just yet, because I can adjust it later.
I'll begin the drill with the player in the right line, and record as he runs to the first yellow cone.
He'll get a pass from the first player in the left line, and order to do this I'll insert a new keyframe like this.
So that player #1 can run around the cone, I'll double click and make freehand movement.
Now check the movement using the slider, it looks pretty good. If you're not satisfied...
then you can alway right click and use Remove Last Animation and redo it.
So now I'll try to get the timing for the first pass, so that it doesn't come to soon.
When player #1 is about here, I'll insert a new keyframe, so player #2 (left line) can make his pass to arrive about here.
Now I'll record the pass, drag the ball from player #2 to player #1, right on his stick.
Use the slider to check the movement, it looks okay.
I'd like to get a natural passing movement for player #2. So I'll mark the keyframe again.
I'd like to get a natural passing movement from the player making the pass. Since I've only moved the ball...
I'll move player #2 forward a bit at a slight angle and rotate a little, so it will look like a natural passing movement.
Check the movement with the slider and also with the Play button. We see it's a bit too fast, so we adjust the...
duration to 15 seconds under Settings. Click Play again and we see the entire movement looks pretty good.
Now I'll add Player #2's movement to the cone after the pass. Find the right keyframes to match the desired movement.
I'm keeping in mind that Player #3 will make a pass after Player #2 rounds the cone, making it a complete drill. The goalie I've already...
got in a good position and I want him to also follow the cross court pass, so here I mark the keyframe and move and rotate the goalie.
As always, use the slider to check the movement. We see the goalie follows the pass just as we want it to.
Now I'll record the next movement in the drill, insert a new keyframe. Here I'll record Player #1 dribbling...
Click on the ball and Attach the ball to Player #1. To record a freehand movement, I double click and mark...
Player #1 and while holding down the mouse button, drag the player towards the goalie and release.
Mark Player # and right click and rotate the player. Again use the slider to check the movement.
Here I'd like the goalie to follow Player #1's movement. Mark the same keyframe and record the goalie, perhaps rotating a bit too.
Check the movement. It's important to finish this movement because...
Player #1 will continue past the goalie, so that afterwards Player #3 can pass to Player #2 behind him.
Now I'll record a quick shot. Insert a new short keyframe and right click on the player to detach the ball.
Drag the ball, here in the goalie's right corner, release it and drag it again to the left corner, to look realistic.
Check the movement. Perhaps record a slight forward movement of the player, again to look a bit realistic.
Check the movement.
To record the goalie, who was slightly late, insert a new keyframe after the shot and record the repositioning, with a slight rotation.
To continue Player #1's movement, insert a new keyframe and drag the player to the opposite side and behind the goalie.
Check the movement. And here I'll record the next movement:
the pass behind Player #1. We check when Player #1's movement began, there. I've already planned for Player #2 to be here...
so I'll mark the starting keyframe here, green. And about here stop, red.
Since I want the player about here... I'll insert a new keyframe here in the timeline.
Double click and drag the player freehand to about here. Right click and rotate the player.
Check the movement and look for when the pass should be made from Player #3...
and about here is a good starting keyframe, green.
When the pass should be made I mark the keyframe, red. Drag the ball to Player #2.
And here I want a nice passing action. I rotate the player's stick a little bit, so it looks realistic.
Check the movement with Play.
We see that the ball passes behind Player #1 perfectly.
And of course I can recording the drill, but I'd suggest saving it, opening again and continuing from there.
