Okay, in this clip I'm going to show you how to make or just review how to make a basic
minor chord. It's very important, you can't forget. And once you have it, you know, just
play it in a couple of different keys and I've always say, make it your own. I'm going
to show you like Inversions a little bit later on, but anyway, we'll arrive to it. How to
make a basic chord. You got to take the first, the third and fifth tone of the scale and
add them together. The third, you're going to make it, you're going to Flat it or bring
it down half step, that makes it minor. So once again, the first, third and fifth tone
of the scale you're going to use. The third you're going to make it flat. I'll show you
how. Here we are A Flat. We're going to take the A Flat here, C and E Flat there. I'm going
now to third, not the third note that I'm playing, but the third tone of the scale;
one, two, three. That's what I mean, the third tone of the scale we're going to take that
down half step. That's how, that's how you make a basic minor chord. Once again, remember
last time we number the scale from one to eight. Keeping in mind that one and eight
are the same. So I'm going to number it again; one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
Going to a whole, whole, half; whole, whole, half. Now you also remember that. Starting
point; whole, whole, half, whole, whole, whole, half. Take the first turn fifth, one; take
the third, bring it down a half step. There's your basic minor chord. That's going to be
your foundation to build of.
