Once I got here I became really involved in a lot of extra things, and got really involved
with student government and I eventually made it to the UVC executive board that was really
meaningful for me and now I am graduating and looking back on the past four years I
wouldn’t change anything, it was really great.
I was nominated to be the student marshal because I am the president of the Nurses Student
Association, so my classmates and my peers and faculty nominated me for this position.
The Watson School the secretary actually e-mailed me and asked me if I wanted to be the student
marshal and of course I was like that is such a big honor, so I accepted immediately.
Well, they sent out an e-mail a couple of months ago asking for applications so I wrote
a paragraph of why I wanted to do it and sent in my resume I was chosen. So I am really
happy about that.
Um, I am really excited. I saw the e-mail asking people to apply and I figured it sounds
like a great honor to do and so I applied. It was basic on your resume or GPA and things
like that and when I found out I so excited and my parents are really proud, that made
me happy as well.
And yeah, I was ecstatic so I said yeah I will definitely represent the school because
I love the school and I know they love me.
I’m a little nervous and I hope I don’t trip and fall but I’m really honored to
be able to walk across the stage on behalf of my class. It is a really big honor and
I am really excited to be able to do that.
I didn’t find out until yesterday that I would be walking across the stage and I was
so excited I called my mom right away. But it’s, you know, not everybody gets to walk
across the stage, so I it was a really an honor to be the one to accept on behalf of
Fine Arts.
Oh, I was very excited, it was quite the honor, I worked very hard this year and I feel all
my work has paid off. I’m excited to lead my friends and my soon to be colleagues in
the Nursing profession on the stage today. Oh, it is going to mean so much, my family
is so proud of me, they know how hard I have worked through these four years at Binghamton
it means a lot to them that I get the opportunity to walk across the stage and I am just going
to look across and give them a good wave and just let them know how much I love and appreciate
all the stuff they have done for me as well.
I love Binghamton, it showed me a lot about like, being here showed me that I want to
care for people; it showed me that some people do care for you and you should always reciprocate
that.
I came in as a science major; I ended up switching to the Decker School of Nursing after finding
my love for nursing, helping people. Afterwards, I studied aboard for a year in Turkey and
I came back and than I continued my nursing journey here at Decker and afterwards I am
thinking about working in a hospital setting, critical care, something like that.
Being academics which means being an involved student on campus I feel like I have really
learned a lot here and that I am done with my time here now and I that I can move on
with the rest of my life.
And I am really excited to actually stay in Binghamton after I graduate because I got
a job with BAE Systems. So Binghamton is going to be my home for a while.
