To my right, you will see I have the Canon PowerShot D10
waterproof, shockproof and freezeproof digital camera,
this is a 12.1 digital camera.
And to my left I have this plastic bin of water.
Now, it's a special day on Computer TV, we're going to do a science experiment, okay?
I'm going to place the Canon PowerShot D10 into this bin of water,
and see if it turns on afterwards. Are we ready? Are we ready?
Okay, let's see.
Clean up my mess here.
Alright, let's see if this camera can power on.
Look at that! It survived! We have power!
Welcome everybody to Computer TV,
check out this cool Canon PowerShot D10.
Like I said, waterproof, shockproof and freezeproof.
Now, listen. If you're going snorkeling, this baby can go in up to 33 feet of water.
I am not lying, I actually took it to the pool with me the other day.
So, you can do a lot better than this little plastic bin,
when I tell you, that you can.
Alright? now this is a 12.1 megapixel camera, you're gonna take super, super,
high quality, beautiful images, all skin tones are gonna look natural,
crystal clear, you can't go wrong with this Canon.
So, let me tell you a little bit more about this Canon.
First of all, it has a 3X optical 4X digital zoom,
takes MMC or SDHC cards, no internal storage,
so you definetly need a card.
It comes with a 2.5 inch TFT display, which we showed you earlier, there we go.
ISO 1600, has red-eye reduction, image stabilisation, face detection,
movie mode, blink detection, it's actually gonna detect
when the person blinks in the picture and would alert you to take another shot,
oh yeah, movie mode, 19 shooting modes and 16 special scene modes, okay?
This design, it rocks, it really does. It looks like a submarine,
the colors, bright, I love the blue, and it's not heavy at all,
it's just small enough to, you know, take it with you everywhere you go.
So, check this one out, it's the Canon PowerShot D10,
and now I'm gonna show you exactly, you know, how to
play with some of the features.
Let's turn it on the back,
and you'll see you have your shutter release
and your power button right here,
this is your shutter release, this is your power,
and you have all your controls back here, okay?
So starting over here, this is your instant print button, okay?
Here you have your mode selection and your playback, okay?
And moving along, over here you have your wide and your tight right here,
and then along the circle, starting up top, your exposure,
your flash, your function in the middle, your macro mode on the side,
and here is your trash/self timer.
You got your menu down here, and your display right here.
And if you turn it over, again, rechargeable battery in here
along with your SD or SDHC or MMC card.
Okay, so let's power on.
C'mon, there we go.
And right now we're in auto mode, but let's experiment some more,
since we are having fun with experiments today.
Click the mode selection button and you'll see, here pops up your options,
you can go into program mode, and in program mode you have more control
over your shots, and you just hit the function button
and you'll see you can really customize your photos,
you can set your ISO, you can white-balance,
you can pick certain color effects, scroll through these really fast,
I see you have a lot to choose from. Okay.
Go on down, your focus.
Keep on going, you have your single shot or continuous shot,
your fine or your normal,
and last but not least, your picture size.
If you want to take 12 megapixel pictures or smaller.
Okay, so I'm gonna hit the mode selection wheel
and see what else we have.
Let's go into the scene modes, scroll through them.
Underwater. So, like I said, This is a waterproof camera,
whether you're going snorkeling or even canoeing,
or you're gonna be, you know, near a beach,
you should really take advantage of the underwater scene.
Aquarium, folliage, snow, there's, you know,
all the standard ones are on here, plus ISO 3200, which is great
if you're shooting in low light and wanna make sure
that your pictures still come out good.
And stitch-assist. This is another way of saying panorama,
and this will help you take a couple different shots
and paste them all together so you get a full panoramic view.
And, like I said, has all the others, like portrait, landscape, kids and pets,
indoor, sunset etc., okay?
So, let's get out of here, oh, now we're in sunset mode,
and go into movie mode.
Now, you have a couple different settings once you're in movie mode.
So here we are, we're in movie mode.
And just hit the function button and you can scroll through
and set the size, now, you can take movies
with a 640 by 480 resolution, or, if you're taking movies for the web,
make sure you put it on the 320 by 240 setting
so that would make your uploading time a lot shorter, okay?
So there we go, we're on the smaller setting.
Now, let's go and take a photo, so let's go back into auto mode for a second.
Now, I'm gonna take a quick photo just so I could show you
some of the playback options.
let's see, what can I take a photo of? I think I'm gonna take a photo of myself.
Alright, here we go. Oh, that's face deduction,
that box around my face.
Alright, ready?
There we go, that's my photo, okay?
I'm gonna come back here, and now I'm going to show you
the playback, right up here.
Go into your playback, there's your picture that you just took,
and same deal, if you hit the function button,
or the menu button, there we go. It's the menu, not the function.
And you can set your slideshow, you can erase, here's you red-eye correction,
you can crop, you can trim, you can resize, you can rotate,
so you have all of your editing features right here.
You can even add transitions, which is pretty cool,
all without a PC.
So, if you're on the go, you don't have a computer next to you,
and all you have is your camera, you can even do some instant editing,
which is great.
Alright guys, it's the Canon D10 waterproof,
shockproof and freezeproof. It really is ready for your next adventure.
But, before I leave you today, let me show you this wrist strap.
Now, Canon has built in 4 grooves along each side of the camera,
so whatever is most comfortable for you, and it's very easy,
just flop it in and turn.
Put it on your wrist and it's ready to go! On to the next adventure!
So, check it out, the Canon D10. I'm Sam, and we'll see you next time.
