Welcome to the ITS channel. You're about to learn about creating PowerPoint
presentations with some of the bells and whistles the program has to offer.
As you can see there are a number of options to create presentations with, but
for the purpose of this video we'll stick with the blank presentation template and
click Create.
If you click under the Design tab, a series of different formats and colour
schemes will appear.
These can be changed at your own discretion, but we'll go over this in
another
tutorial.
Now that we've selected a design we'll start populating the text fields.
This is the icon that you would click on if you wanted to change
only the colour scheme, but not the actual theme and format of your presentation.
There are a couple of different ways to insert a new slide. You can either go up to the Home
tab and select
New Slide
or you can actually right click on the slide in the left hand slide navigation and select
New Slide.
his is what a bulleted list would look like under the design that we've chosen.
You can add transitions to make the slides flow in a more snazzy fashion.
Click on the transitions tab and for now we'll select the reveal option,
but as you can see there are many more. You'll know when the slides have
transitions applied to them because they will have a star displayed underneath
the slide number on the left hand slide navigation.
Now let's apply the push transition to the second slide.
And you can actually insert images by clicking on the insert tab and selecting
Picture
or if you'd like
you can actually take a screenshot of something else you have open and insert it
as an image in your PowerPoint presentation.
So drag over the area you want to take a screenshot of and it will
automatically be brought back into your PowerPoint.
You can adjust and resize as necessary. Now click on the picture and a pink
pictures tool tab will appear
on the top panel. Navigate over to the sizing icons on the right hand side and
adjust the height or width
as you need.
You can also add a border to the picture.
Now once you're ready to go through the slideshow, click on the slideshow tab
and you'll see you have a number of different options on how to start the
slideshow.
Let's select from the beginning.
To navigate to a different slide you can either hit the space bar or just click with
your mouse
and hit escape to exit out of the slideshow.
These are just some of the bells and whistles to incorporate into your next
PowerPoint presentation.
Thanks for tuning in to the ITS channel!
