This is how to refill a HP Q6000-series cartridge.
An original cartridge set costs upwards of $300. Let me show you how to refill your cartridges
and cut that cost by 80%!
We will be refilling a HP Q6002A yellow cartridge. The procedure is the same for all four cartridges.
This is a Toner Holemaking Tool. Use this tool to easily pierce into a cartridge without
the risk of damaging the internal components.
Step 1. Pierce two holes into the excess toner compartment.
Step 2. Empty out all the excess toner. Other instructions don’t mention this very important
step. If this compartment fills up completely with excess toner, you’ll start seeing streaks
on your print-outs.
Step 3. Seal the holes with some of the aluminum tape provided with all Inkowl toner kits.
Step 4. Pierce the toner compartment with one hole.
Step 5. Empty out all the old toner. This is important because if you have two different
toners in the cartridge at the same time, your print quality will be compromised.
Here is a bottle of InkOwl’s high-quality HP 2600 yellow toner.
Step 6. Pour the whole bottle right into the cartridge.
Step 7. Seal the fill hole with tape.
We will now replace the cartridge’s smart chip. The replacement chips are always included
in our toner kits when needed.
Step 8. Cut the plastic tab at the corner of the chip.
Step 9. Poke the chip with a knife and then pop it out of its slot.
10. Slide in the new chip.
You can optionally use a bit of hot melt glue to keep the chip in place.
Congratulations, your cartridge is ready to be installed! By refilling all four colors,
you’ll save yourself $250 and throw four less cartridges into the landfill.
Take a moment, think green, think refilling, think INKOWL!
