Patients are coming to see us more and more commonly because they've
experience a significant amount of weight loss. It might have been through
diet and exercise, or they might have had bariatric surgery, or laproscopic
band surgery, and they've lost in excess of 50 pounds of weight. This not
uncommonly leaves them with loose skin in the upper arms, they have excess
skin in the stomach, in the backside, in the thighs, or even in the face
and neck.
People that have had significant weight loss prior to undertaking surgery,
we want to make sure that they've optimized their general health and
they've cut out smoking, and when we see them, they have particular
concerns. It could be that their *** are now deflated and droopy, and
they may benefit from breast lifting in combination with implants. They may
benefit from a tummy tuck operation, and may benefit from butt lifting of
the backside, which is a circumferential type of lifting, and it can even
improve the outside of the hips and outer thighs. And we also can perform
thigh lifting of the inner thighs, and brachioplastic surgery of the upper
arms, and of course there's always neck and face lifting surgery if they
are in need of that as well.
Although patients that have experienced significant weight loss do have
many areas that bother them, we usually recommend staging the operations,
and this is best discussed at the time of your consultation. Patients seek
us for these operations because I have over 20 years performing total body
cosmetic surgery and experience they can trust. Our office also has a very
friendly staff, it's a warm, inviting environment, and we're very conscious
of patients' concerns and any anxieties they may have towards these
procedures.
