More than 1-hundred-50 government employees around the country have stepped down to run
for an elected post at the upcoming June 4th local elections.
The Public Administration Ministry says a total of 1-hundred-52 central and local government
officials have tendered their resignations from last December until their deadline Thursday
this week. Some notable names include former minister
of security and public administration Yoo Jeong-bok running for Incheon city mayor,
and ex-vice minister of the same ministry Park Chan-woo , who will run for Cheonan city
mayor.
