Today, we're going to talk about how to pick out a fresh cantaloupe. When picking out a
fresh cantaloupe, you want to stay away from any kind of spots like that, any real soft
spots, kind of bruise spots. It's a little too ripe, it's been sitting out too long.
You want to look for some that are not quite as green. They do have a little bit of green
to them like that one right there, is pretty dark green underneath those little lines on
in there and it's pretty solid on the bottom. That one still has a little bit of time to
go. It's not quite ripe yet. You want to find one that is a little bit more colored. A little
bit more brownish color and they have a little give on the bottom of them. One like that
right there is pretty good. It's not quite as green, it's got a little bit of that color
to it, and it gives. It's got a little bit of give on the bottom and that means that
it's going to be a lot more ripe than something that's going to be rock solid. It's going
to be a lot more juicy, a lot more fresh. It's what you're looking for, is the little
give on the bottom.
