0:09 EMCEE Now throughout the cruise, we will have
various different lectures which youíll be able to attend; but today, weíve got our
panel and our question-and-answer session. 0:21
KEVIN HUGHES If you wanna know what romance is for someone like her, itís, will you hold
the baby and let him throw up on you while I eat? If you do that Iíll wear the Batman
outfit later tonight. At eight-thirty this morning, she sent me out for breakfast, to
save a table for her. At ten to ten, I called her and said, honey, first of all, Iím getting
stares from people who used to like me. 0:49
Second of all, we gotta be on that romance thing at ten. And she goes, well if you wouldnít
call every ten minutes and nag me, Iíd be ready by now. So a sense of humor works for
keeping a long-term relationship together. Thirty years of ëmy heroí is not enough.
1:03 LISA LIGHT A wedding is almost like, itís
almost like a marketing event. Youíre coming out to the public and telling people about
whatís important to you and whatís romantic to you, and sharing it with the people that
you love. 1:15
KH I had a daughter born on Valentineís Day and there is no better Valentineís gift.
So that was that one; but the moment that led to her being there Ö was pretty high
up the list, too. 1:32
KH The best Valentineís Day gift, to me, is Ö itís every day. I mean, itís, it sounds
silly because we put it all on one day and itís a special day and it allows that day
to be dramatic. When Kathyís asleep ñ I donít know if you know this: when you drift
off to sleep, or youíre starting to wake up, in that in-between state, thereís no
way to hide your real emotions, because youíre not conscóthereís no conscious filtering.
So if you jab somebody with your foot accidentally and they punch you in your jaw, theyíre angry
people normally. 2:03
So when Kathyís in that in-between state, I like to squeeze her hand, because I get
what I call a ësecret smileí ñ she just squeezes back, sheís not conscious, not aware
of it, but she gets this little smile and she squeezes my hand, and itís so innocent
and so pure that sometimes Iíll stay up late just to make sure sheís asleep, so I can
wake her up, and when she gets groggy Iíll squeeze her hand. Thatís my Valentineís
(?). 2:25
RYAN SUTTER So itís, what I think weíre enjoying now is teaching our children what
love is, and what Valentineís Day is, and itís really cool, itís really special to
see Valentineís Day, or just every day, through the eyes of a child; it gives you a renewed
perspective, and I think that thatís what weíre really there starting to enjoy.
2:48 LL These guys seem to enjoy what theyíre
doing. They have a plan, a master plan, to stay with their parents as long as they can.
2:57 KH When we all met yesterday for the first
time at breakfast, surprisingly enough, what one ó a twenty-eight-year-old kid told me
on the ship, he said, women of my generation are the men of your generation. They all have
multiple degrees, they own their own house, they got a car, they got a future. And I said,
what about you? And he says, we live with four of our buddies in the basement of our
momís home playing Xbox like a bunch of hamsters. 3:22
ANNA POST Letting them know what your idea of a future and a life together looks like,
I would bet, is gonna be pretty important. And if heís a smart guy, heís gonna be listening,
heís gonna pick up and start looking in the classifieds for a new place to live, I think.
But there are, rest assured ñ Iím thirty so I just went through my dating in my twenties
and there are definitely some out there who donít live with their parents. So sheís,
hopefully their time is coming. 3:47
DEE FRAZIER Have to plan wonderful surprises, just all kinds of things that you probably
did while you were courting and kind of forgot about, just flirting across the room, and
act like you donít want anyone else to see, and just flirting or winking. Hereís one:
heís coming home, heís on his way home, and you are now preparing the stage with candy
kisses all the way up to wherever you want it to lead, perhaps the bedroom.
4:15 And you have this music playing, which is
really bassy, hey, big spender; and you have pulled out these stilettos that, whenever
you can not wobble in íem, four, fives, whatever they are ñ then Ö [puts on feather boa]
Ö and thatís all you have on. 4:34
And for the guys, I always say, if you want to really connect with, in her new way of
life, take dance lessons. Women love to dance. And the best pick-up line in the whole world
is, ëMay I have this dance?í And for the women, real important, not to give up the
future, do not go to the door in a wedding gown. It scares them.
4:59 RS Just simply canít take life so seriously
anymore. So now, not taking life seriously, not feeling Ö on top of your wife ó not
that way, [unintelligible] way to show love, but thatís not what weíre talking about
at this point; but, giving her a break once in awhile, you know, Lisa was talking about
ó 5:28
When we go on trips sometimes we like to secretly get postcards and mail íem from like, the
Grand Cayman, and they show up a month later, after the trip, and you can kind of remember
the time that you had there together. So, I think the big thing is, just keeping an
eye open for the opportunities that exist. You know, everybodyís busy and everybodyís
having a hard time these days, but, thereís all these little potential opportunities that
exist; so if you see a bouquet of your wifeís favorite flowers, maybe get those, or something
like that, just to kind of let her know that youíre still thinking about her.
