Okay, now for T-Rex himself. Tyrannosaurus Rex, the king of the Dinosaurs lived sixty-five
to seventy-five million years ago. Was basically a North American Dino, with relatives in Asia
and possibly Europe. Now he stood twenty feet tall, weighed seven tons and had the most
powerful jaw of any Dinosaur on planet Earth. But please note, he only had these mutated
short limbs. As I said, his antecedents were gradually losing the use of those arms. And
the question is, did they serve any purpose at all? For example, it doesn't look like
he could've used them to put food in his mouth. Would've been very good for defense. One theory
is that T-Rex and some other Dinos may have slept crocodile fashion, so that when they
awoke in the morning, these short limbs may have been very powerful and helped them get
to an upright position so he could go hunting. Now was he a scavenger or a predator? All
of these predatory Dinosaurs are known as Theropods. Approximately one quarter of all
Dinos were carnivorous, three quarters were vegetarian or herbivores. Now the one question
some critics have said, he could move that fast. They've estimated he may have moved
nineteen miles per hour, which sounds fast enough to me to catch some of the slow moving
Dinos he would have been attacking. Also the question about his vision. Binomial vision,
seems not to be very pronounced in him. For example, we have crocodiles that have only
twenty degrees binomial vision, but cats, which are excellent predators have a hundred
and thirty-five degrees of binomial vision. That is where the left and right eye intersect.
They've determined that his binomial vision was about forty degrees. And certainly if
crocodiles can survive, T-Rex could have survived as a hunter. But if he couldn't find his dinner,
then he would have been a basically a predator, or a scavenger who ate dead Dinosaurs. Acarian,
yes. Now, the question is, were there any small T-Rex's? And in India, they've found
one. The Rajasaurus, which is certainly very similar, but stood only about ten feet tall,
and weighed only one to three tons. Yes, and again, for each foot we're talking about twenty
foot Dinosaurs, that's a two story Dinosaur. Also a vicious predator, the first major Dinosaur
found in India. Rajasaurus, the regal Dinosaur, along with T-Rex, the king of the Dinosaurs.
