Welcome to our training on how to add a book to the Google
Play Books Partner Center.
In this video, we'll show you how
to add a single book, including adding settings and uploading
content.
Once you've logged into your account
and are on the Book Catalog page,
click on the Add Books button.
In the identifier box, enter the 10-digit or 13-digit ISBN
issued to you by a registration agency.
If you don't have an ISBN for your book, just check the box
and we will assign you an internal identifier which
will start with the GGKEY prefix.
Next, select a template from the Template to Apply drop down.
A template has default settings you
would like to apply to a book.
You can adjust template settings or add a new template
by clicking on the Manage Template
button on the Book Catalog page.
For this example, we'll select the default template.
Now you'll click Create.
In the General Details tab, we recommend
providing as much information as possible about the book.
This includes book format, title, contributors,
and related identifiers.
Next, on the Google Play settings tab,
add prices and currencies.
Then add the country where these prices should be applied.
Once you're finished, review the distribution settings.
Next, add the Google Books settings.
Google Books settings allow you to determine
how your book should be previewed on Google Books.
Here you can adjust the browseable percentage,
the territories where you have rights
to show your book in preview, and the URL where
users can buy the book directly from you.
Finally, let's go to the Content Files tab,
where we'll submit content and cover files for the book.
For content files, we accept EPUBs, PDFs, and cover image
files.
We recommend visiting the help center for detailed file name
guidelines.
To upload the files, click on the upload content button
and choose the files you'd like to upload for this book.
You can also upload multiple files at once.
Files that are uploaded will appear here
in the Content Files tab.
But note that there may be a delay
of a few hours in processing.
In addition to uploading new content,
this is the same location where you will also
replace existing files.
If you're adding the book to your account
for the first time, like we are in this example,
select Ready to Publish.
Note that this button will say Save instead
of Ready to Publish if you're editing an existing book.
Now that we've added our book settings and content,
our book is ready for publishing.
