Good Morning Everybody! [Hi]
"Hi" works. How is everybody
today? Everyone's good. In The
Purple Bag we have something that's gonna help us with our
understanding of today's sermon. Who would like to look
in The Purple Bag this morning? Let's let
Ariel.
[Ariel begins taking out
objects from The Purple Bag
one by one and
hands each of them to Pastor.]
[Sophia tries to help Ariel with one remaining object and
as both girls peer inside,
Ariel announces it's a brick.]
[Inaudible] Can't you take the brick out?
Why not?
Ah! Okay!
We have a brick. We have
some sticks. And we have
some straw. Can anyone think
of a story that you might know of that uses
straw, sticks,
and bricks?
Sophia?
How 'bout if I give you a hint?
Oink! Oink!
Oink!
Nobody ... okay? Anybody else got it now?
Way to go Brandon.
The Three Little Pigs! Right?
Remember the three little pigs built three houses,
one of them built houses out of ... straw,
one used sticks, and one used bricks.
Which was the smartest of the three little pigs?
Ariel?
Why is the one who used the bricks the smartest?
Ariel?
[Inaudible] 'Cause the wolf couldn't pull it down.
Because the bricks were stronger than the sticks and
the straw. So if we're going to build a house
or a structure, it's very good for us to have a good
foundation and to use things that are really strong.
And today we're talking about the Church.
The Church that God has built.
And that God has put a very strong
foundation under it. Jesus Christ is the cornerstone.
It's built on the apostles and the prophets.
And we all come together into this very strong
building because God has brought us together
to be His Church; built on Christ,
and on all of God's Word that has
come before us. The strongest thing the Church will
ALWAYS survive. Nothing can
tear it down and destroy it.
It only will be here because of God's love
and God's grace and the strength and
power of Jesus. Does anybody have any questions?
[Inaudible] Alright, then you guys can
go back to your moms and dads and we'll join together in our
Hymn-of-the-Day: Hymn 528.
