Many people asked me how to play Piano 3 on the ukulele
It's a piece from the Minecraft soundtrack
and that's a ukulele
I know the real name is "Mice on Venus", but I say "Piano 3"
because the name in the minecraft folder is piano3.ogg
I said i'd do a video tutorial
because people have asked me nicely
To understand this tutorial
you don't need great ukulele skills
but you need to know the basics
for example the C chord
the F chord
and the G chord
and you have to tune your ukulele in standard GCEA high-G
it's the first time I talk to a camcorder
so if I'm not very clear or if you have questions
you can ask me in the comments of this video
in french or in english
if you haven't seen the original video
or if you don't know Piano 3
you can see my version on the ukulele
here
(it's the link to the video)
(I'll put it on the video)
(actually, at the time you're watching this, it's already here)
(so it's silly to say so)
(but anyway, the link is here)
Uh, what about now... I think I'm going to start...
Here I'm thinking to put a zoomed video of my fingers in the corner
But finally I did the tabs, so I'll put them instead.
And now I am talking about that zoomed video that I didn't made
So i'm too lazy to translate that ***.
Thank you for your understanding.
So, the fist chord is like a C chord
but you play the 7th fret on the A string instead of the 3rd
and you got this
which is indeed the first chord of the song
then you play the A string at the 5th fret
and next, play G and C strings open + E string at 3rd fret
and that's the result
then, play a F chord + the A string on 3rd fret
then A string open
and go back to the first chord
now I'll play this slowly
after that, play the A string at the 5th fret
and here comes a twisted chord
A string at 3rd fret, E string at 5th fret and C string at 4th fret
and G string open
next, play the A string on 7th fret
the F chord with A string at 3rd fret
A string open
and a G chord, but without the A string
(not like this)
(better like that)
and next play it with the four strings. ^^
So now, we have this.
The next part is kinda weird
I made an arrangement a little personal
because it wasn't very clear in the original piece
so you can play a C chord with the G string on 2nd fret
then shift to the 1st fret of the G string
then play a regular C chord
A string open
and the F chord with A string at 3rd fret
so the result is
and slowly
Then that becomes even more twisted
you have to play the C string at 2nd fret and the A string open
without touching the E string
so you have to use two fingers
to play the two strings at the same time
then the A string at the 3rd fret
A string at 2nd fret and E string at 3rd fret
E string at 3rd fret
and C string at 2nd fret + E string at 1st fret
then play G and C strings open + E string at 1st fret
So now we have this
And we are near the end !
So play the G and C strings open and the E string at 3rd fret
then E string open
then G and C strings open
now play the C string at the 2nd fret, then play it open
and now, G C and E strings open
next, play the E string at 1st fret then at 3rd fret
and G C and E strings open again
then, C string at 2nd fret, then open
then G C and E strings open again (and again, and again...)
then, play E string at 3rd fret
then G and C strings open + E string at 3rd fret
E string open, then G string open + C string at 2nd fret
and a G chord
And this is the end, so I'll play this part again
Oh, sorry, I forgot to say that before the G chord
you have to play only the G string open + the C string at 2nd fret
and then the G chord
And after, you restart from the beginning
the second part is the same
except that I improvised a little on it
so on my video, that's not the real piece
so I don't think it's very interesting to show it to you
anyway I don't remember it anymore.
It's the same thing, except that you play it how you want.
so if you like to improvise, or to do anything with your 4-string guitar
(Joke, I know it's a ukulele, don't get angry ^^)
So if you like to improvise, you can do it.
I hope this video helped you
I've done it by request, and because i'm glad to help when I can
but if it wasn't clear enough, you can ask me in the comments
I'll try to clarify
If this video has interested more than 2 people
maybe I will do more videotutorials
for the ukulele or for others instruments
maybe piano, guitar, or audio / video editing...
even if I don't have great skills in those things...
If you are interested in these eventual videotutorials
Or in my other videos, you can subscribe to my channel
and not to my facebook page, because I don't have any facebook account. :)
Instead, you can visit my website (french) and my G+ page if you want.
But after all, I don't care
stay on the youtube channel if you want
most of the things I do goes here.
I wish you a good learning of the ukulele.
See ya !
