Hi! Today we're making sugar free strawberry syrup and jam
They are super easy to make, believe me
Take 11 oz (about 300 grams) of strawberries
(that's the weight of two pieces of fruit)
Take out the green part and cut them up into quarters
like this, that will be enough.
Put them into a heavy bottomed sauce pan
Add 1 cup of water and bring it to a boil
then reduce the heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes
Now turn the heat off. Add 1 tablespoon of sweetener
and 1 of sherry or modena vinegar
The vinegar will enhance the sweetness of the fruit
while adding colour and aroma
You can add more sweetener if you want to
Take out the pulp and set aside
Strain the remaining syrup trough a fine strainer and let cool down.
Back to our pulp, just crush it with a fork and you'll get jam.
How cool was that? Now we've got plenty of tasty sugar free jam
and this delicious syrup that I'm going to pour over
my instant ice cream.
