Hi, we're here talking about copper foiling today. We're going to be making a sun catcher.
But, first of all it's extremely important that we go over the ways to take care of our
tools, that we can use them over and over again and continue to enjoy them as long as
possible. For our soldering iron, there is a particular chemical compound that we want
to use to help protect and lengthen the use of our tip and the life of our tip and it's
called salamoniac. It just comes in a block form like this, it's a tinning block, is actually
what it is. It cleans and tins the soldering irons. So, I have an open box right here,
so I'm just going to demonstrate to you how this works. Once you have been using it and,
you want to go ahead and finish up each time that you go to put your soldering iron away,
before you unplug it and you stick it away. You don't want to leave any of that excess
solder on there. You just run this across, like that. There will be some fumes created
as you can see, right there, but it's going to give you a nice tinning, silvery color
on your tip. This will keep your tip in good working condition. So, again, it is very important
and a very helpful tool to have around, or chemical rather.
