Ah, summer. Time to hang loose, catch some waves,
and swim into some savings!
Stay Cheap!
Hey! I'm Jeff Yeager, the ultimate cheapskate and host of The Cheap Life!
Here are my five favorite fantastically frugal ways to make a splash without fiscally floundering
this summer.
I love a hair raising rollercoaster as much as the next guy,
but some theme parks will cost you as much as a hundred bucks a person!
Opt for a local county fair and you'll pay a fraction of that. It's just as much fun,
and the corndogs are delicious!
For some more cultured summertime fun, look for free outdoor concerts,
'screen on the green' movie nights or my favorite,
Shakespeare in the park.
To save, or not to save...?
What a ridiculous question!
Pool memberships and water parks can pack a pricey punch. But a day at the beach
is often free.
Pack yourself a picnic instead,
make your own kite and shazam! You've got yourself a perfect summer
day you'll remember for years to come.
LJ: Cowabunga!

Jeff: Hey, it's time for a Cheapskate Shout-out! This week's shout-out goes to Kimberly at the
blog "A Night Owl",
for her mouth-watering round up of her favorite fifty
popsicle recipes!
Frozen treats are my favorite frugal fare.
Om nom nom, thanks Kimberly!
It's not really summer without baseball, peanuts and cracker jacks, but Major
League ball game tickets come with a Major League price!
So go cheer for your local farm team instead, where a family of four can enjoy
the game, hotdogs and a couple of rounds of drinks for less than the cost of an average single
ticket to a Major League game.
Umpire offscreen: Play ball! Jeff: You may even catch a glimpse of the next Jackie Robinson!
I'm Jeff Yeager for The Cheap Life! Have a ball this summer, and stay cheap!
