Hi, this is Shiloe with Style United and today,
I'm gonna show you how to look fabulous with makeup tips
for women in their 50s.
My model is Robin and we'll get started.
Typically, as you age, the skin can lose elasticity, collagen,
which can lead to fine lines and wrinkles in some cases.
Keep in mind that with a skincare regimen, you want
to address your main skincare concerns first in order to get
the makeup results that you want to achieve.
So what I would like to introduce is Olay Regenerist,
this is Wrinkle Revolution Complex.
This has micro-fillers in it, which gives a nice even,
smooth complexion.
It has a B3 complex in it, which will give you
an overall youthful glow.
So to get started with your makeup regimen, not only is it
good to have a solid skincare regimen, but usually applying
a foundation primer or a good serum will help your foundation
set smoother and give it a more long-lasting finish.
What I would suggest is CoverGirl and Olay's
Simply Ageless Serum Primer.
It actually helps the foundation sit on top of the skin
for a more youthful glow and a solid foundation.
So now we're gonna move onto the eyes.
When picking the right eyeshade, just keep in mind of your
hair color, your skin tone, and as well as your eye color.
Usually you would want to stay away from something with a high
shimmer or a glitter since that can tend to accentuate
any fine lines or wrinkles that you may have along the eyes.
The palette that I'm gonna be using today is CoverGirl's
Exact Eyelights Eye-Brightening Shadows
and this is in Majestic Hazels.
I picked this palette because it has very neutral tones, which
will go really well with Robin's skin tone, but also they have
just enough shimmer to give her that youthful glow.
It's not too overpowering.
Now that I added the lighter shade all over the lid,
I'm gonna pick up this medium shade here,
this is a little bit more of a matte color.
And I'm just gonna apply it, just pat it,
just on to the eyelid.
I'm just gonna concentrate it onto the lid
and a little bit into the crease.
Now that we've added our base color, our highlighter, and our
lid color, I'm gonna move on to the darkest color, which
I'm just gonna pick up a teeny tiny bit on this brush.
I'm just gonna apply it just to the very outer corners
of the eye, just to give it more definition.
One thing I would like to mention is when applying it
on to the outer V, to give it a more lifted look
just on the outer corner of the eye,
you don't want to go all the way to where the lid ends,
just right up to where the lashes are,
about where her eyebrow ends.
And you just want to bring it slightly up and just a little
bit into the crease and slightly just blend that corner in.
That'll give the eye a more lifted look.
So as you can see, I have taken the darker shade
and I finished contouring Robin's eyes.
Now what I'm gonna do is to redefine the eyes, I'm gonna
pick up this medium shade with the smudger brush.
I'm just gonna lightly just apply it
right under her lashline.
You could use eyeliner for this as well,
it's completely up to you.
You just apply it over, making sure that you're concentrating
the darkest of the shadow on the outer corners
and blending it gently.
And I'm just gonna lightly just smudge it out
to get rid of any harsh lines.
Now we're gonna move on to mascara.
The one that I picked to show you is CoverGirl's
Professional Mascara.
The pigment is a Brown/Black and the reason why I chose that
is because it's not too harsh and it just gives a nice,
natural glow.
I'm gonna apply this to the bottom lashes first,
and then I'll move to the top lashes.
You just want one thin, even coat.
You don't want to get anything too clumpy.
You just want to keep it light and natural.
Now we're gonna move on to blush.
I always recommend using a blush that has a dewy finish to it
because it gives a more youthful radiant glow.
So I'm just gonna take a little bit with my finger, just gonna
apply it just to the small apples of Robin's cheeks
in a circular motion, making sure that I'm blending
very, very well.
Start with the apples of the cheeks and then blend upward
towards the temple, just till you get a nice,
natural flush of color.
Now we're gonna move on to lips.
The lip color that I've chosen is CoverGirl's LipPerfection
in Fairytale and I'm using a lip brush.
I'm going to line the lips first with the brush
and then I'm gonna go back and fill it in.
That completes our look.
