Hello this is Dr Paul Leatham. I'm a dentist in Tucson Arizona, and I am here to answer
your questions about dentistry. One of the questions I frequently get from people that
I meet is; Which is the best toothpaste to use? And the answer is: Depends, It depends
on your personal needs. There are different types of toothpastes out there developed for
different types of peoples needs. If you have sensitive teeth, a sensitive toothpaste such
as Sensodyne, and different brands make different sensitive toothpastes, may be the best option
for you to help relieve that sensitivity. If you need frequent cleanings because of
heavy tarter build up, or you have ever had to have deep cleanings, a tarter control toothpaste
may be the better option for you. If you have a high risk for developing cavities, a prescription
toothpaste, with a lot of fluoride in it that will help prevent some of those cavities may
be the best option for you. If you have any questions about which toothpaste would be
the best option for you, just ask your dentist and they will let you know on what your case
is and what would be the best options available.
