The dragon stretch is one of the most important stretches for martial arts training. What
it does is it works the ball joint of the hip in a complete circle. This allows for
the breakdown of calcium deposits and the smooth, flowing, circular motions that are
needed to execute kicking techniques. In addition, it builds strength, flexibility and muscle
power into the legs and allows for kicking techniques of all types, front kicks, side
kicks, back kicks, spinning kicks, to become much more effective when put into use. The
dragon stretch is, can be, can be as challenging as you want it to be. But, the more effort
you put into the various stretches, the more benefit you'll feel when you are doing your
martial arts training.
