My name is Danilo, aka 'number three', I represent and am part of the hip hop duo Annurà and the musical collective Ufo Rap Team
but most of all I represent Naples
In the 90s when I was a kid my dad used to take me for walks
I used to see these characters doing weird things, I remember listening to music different from the usual music
Speaker Cenzou was there, The Family was there, all the 'old school'
I didn't know why, but I liked it, I was attracted to it, it was an awesome feeling
I have never been too fond of school. I did not use to attend too often
This meant I got to meet the neapolitan Senegalese community
I am proud to say that my first true friend is Elhadj Omar, a senegalese boy, who has now gone back to Senegal
I got closer to Islam, because he was a practising muslim, but a moderate one
This way I got to know a different Islam. I am proud to say I have 'returned' to Islam, in a way I have converted
This culture suits me very well, because, knowing myself, I know I need to set myself limits and discipline to respect
It really helped me go back to study, gain an education...
the next step was understanding I had something to say. I began writing down my thoughts as a grown up
I sought exposure for myself only when I knew I could be useful and contribute to the movement's development
First important step was when Svez of 'tredici bastardi' asked me to be his suport artist
I am also proud of having participated in Nanthem, a project that brought together the old and new rap school
Shone, Speaker Cenzou, Lele Blad of KT, Fabio Farti were all there... it all came across as 'we' were, and the individual egos were lost
Rap fans and followers are usually very young. This means it is a responsibility to us as they are very easily influenced
But it is nice the young can understand what is behind the hip hop movement
My first official achievement was one I recorded with Andrea Dj Kroniko, we then formed the Annurà duo
I also had some other collaborations: like the one with Speaker Cenzou, which resulted in the production of the beat of 'Cu sti mmane'
that track had loads of visualization on youtube, now very popular
I can't make a living with my music unfortunately. I have to make do, sometimes I work in a restaurant, sometimes I help my father with his business
but also I work in pubs, I distribute flyers, whatever comes my way. I am currently at the 'Cimarosa' college of Music in Avellino, where I am taking a course in electronic music and sound technician
It is a lot of work, attending is mandatory so I have to sacrify a lot, but I am trying to learn as much as I can to make the most of it
It is for me the way to a future job in the musical scene. I want to eventually make it to be part of it
I would like to be a sound technician, work with recording studios and don't lose contact with this world
It means the world to me, it means an alternative, as it is difficult to find opportunities in Naples
Even when Ihave a project and get called to perform, it doesn't mean I'll get paid, it is very difficult to get the right rewards
You invest tour soul and your time in it ... your time!
Living is fighting, here more than elsewhere in the world, but to me this is no excuse, rather a spur to do better
There is no time for discouragement, I cannot afford to stop, I have to face life and I do with all my will power
My neapolitan dream is to be able to make justice to rap and to convince people to give it the value it deserves!
I dream to be able to work to do rap and at the same time do it in Naples!
