Hi... I'm ZC... your Splinter Cell community developer.
For those of you who are new to the franchise -- or, specifically, Spies vs. Mercs... we
wanted to try and level the playing field a bit.
...and give you some basic keys to success.
What we're showing you now is Spies vs. Mercs CLASSIC.
As you may know, it's 2 versus 2... The objective for the Spies is to hack...
while the Mercs therefore try to defend the terminals.
Spies are played in third-person perspective. They're fast, agile, and deadly up close.
Use your environment -- vents, pipes, and ledges... and stick to the shadows! Stay hidden.
Especially once you or your teammate has initiated a hack.
You need to stay alive and in the area of the terminal to complete the objective...
Mercs are played in First Person. They've got a flashlight to peer into the
darkness... and have a distinct advantage with weaponry and armour.
Use your gadgets to set traps, protect the terminals, and make sure you listen closely for footsteps.
Avoid 'over-using' your flashlight, as it blatantly gives away your position.
Your best strategy is the simplest. Communicate with your partner. Use teamwork. Understand
that Spies and Mercs are very different entities. Play to your advantages. ...and learn from
the opposition.
Oh, and we'll dive into the BLACKLIST mode --featuring 4 versus 4, and deep customization
-- in the near future...
