Jazakallah brother Mohammad Shaikh
for your enlightening talk.
Now we would like to open up the floor
for the question and answer session.
Please come to the mic
which is at my right hand side
and please ask the question
which is pertaining to the topic.
The topic of tonight’s lecture is
what Al-Quran says about Iblees shaitaan.
So kindly ask a question related to that.
Thank you.
Q: When Adam realized the ills in the garden
they say he sew the leaves of the tree,
now what are the leaves of the tree that
he has sown because he also keep on doing
ills and we want to correct them so we've been
taught that he sow the leaves of the tree,
what are the leaves of tree?
A: Generally we understand by
the garden is the garden and there
are the leaves of the tree but this
whole system of the ayats that are
describing about the tree is something, an example.
So what I will do is I will refer to one or two ayats.
In the Arabic is,
"Warakauljannah" the leaves of the garden
but the garden that I was describing,
I will just go and explain to you the garden
So the garden that is referred
to in the ayat I explained that you
will not be hungry for power,
you will not be hungry for kingdom
that is the condition of the garden.
And once do not go near the tree, if you
go near the tree you'll be one of the oppressors.
You understand what Allah says?
Arabic
"And O Adam, you and your pair stay in the garden,
then both of you eat from wherever you
wish and do not go near this tree
so you will become from the oppressors.
" But what that garden is is explained in these ayats.
That you will not be hungry in it,
you will not be naked, so now
when we went near the tree,
we'll be oppressors, so now when we
are oppressors and we did something wrong,
by what are we trying to hide ourselves?
Because you will not be naked but you became naked.
When you do a wrong act you're naked.
And you're hunger for power,
also you'd like to have power and kingdom then
you'll be victim also, then you'll have thirst of knowledge,
so from what you will try to hide?
The wrongs that I did. The act that I did wrong,
I'm trying to hide of the leaves of the garden, same thing.
That secured me,
I'm using the same thing again.
We are in a way out of the garden
whether you covered by the leaves,
we're out of the garden. That is why Allah says,
"Then there will come to you a guidance
Arabic
and whoever will take the guidance from the message"
that means we're out of the garden.
We're no more in the garden.
So we are using this information
that is given by Allah to finally enter
in the garden again. All of us are out
of the garden, so we cover ourselves
bythe leaf or what, we're out of the garden.
Q: The question is from Surah Saad,
and it is can you clarify whether iblees
is from jins or angels?
The first portion of the lecture.
A: Ok, now, so this is basically a concept,
which generally people think there's a
confusion going around in the world,
that either was it from a jin or maliaka,
that is iblees was from jin or malaika/angels?
So we did an ayat that is referred to for the angels
to bow in front of Adam.
Or the angels were asked to bow for, Bashr,
who has got the spirit.
Now the question is, all the angels bow down,
except the iblees so it is clear that
the order was given to the angels not to the jins.
The jins were not asked to bow down for Adam.
But I will refer to two ayats or three ayats
where generally concept is that people
that it is referred to the jins.
How I will explain, I am reading from
I stop here, the ayat isn't complete I'll read the translation.
This (arabic part of ayat) is constant in
both the ayats, same, no difference.
Now, in
it means that when he rejected he
became from the rejecters,
he became from the rejecters so
whatever he was angel,
when he denied Allah's ayats,
Arabic
he became from the rejecters.
Same in arabic is "Jini" so he became from the jins.
He was not a jin, he was not a kafir,
you follow what I am saying,
he was not a kafir, he was not a rejecter,
when he did not obey Allah's command,
he became from the rejecters,
he became from the jins.
Now, what is the creation of the jin
and what is the creation of iblees or shaitaan.
Shaitaan says you've made him from the clay
and you've made me from the fire and in arabic he use "naar."
So they say he was a jin,
the people are saying that he was a jin.
So to solve the situation Allah has created
the jins from something,
you wrote down these references in
Now I will just read those verses once
and then we'll discuss.
and the translation of Abdullah Yusufi is,
Allah says that he created the jins,
now the creation of jins is that he created
the jins from fire? No.
He did not created the jin from fire,
from smokeless fire,
the translation of Abdullah Yusufi.
Marij in Arabic is, like you've heard the word Marjaan?
Marjaan you understand, marjaan?
What is marjaan?
Corals, you understand in
Arabic it is Corals.
So Marij is same word from corals so
he says from the corals/fire from the corals,
translation would be,
Abdullah Yusufi translated
smokeless fire or fire without smoke
or I am saying because
Marij comes from the root latter maraja,
so he says from the corals.
Fire is being made from the corals
you understand?
From the corals.
Jins are created from the corals' fire.
No you don't put the corals in fire, no,
if a fire is being made,
from the corals then it has the creation of the jins.
You understand what I am saying?
The fire that can be produced from
the corals is what Allah's talking about.
Then another ayat was
Now in this ayat is,
Arabic
two different ayats are mentioned
in the whole Quran, which is defining
the creations of the jins.
Arabic
Means the corals from the fire,
Arabic
you understand Masaam?
In English means pores,
so here we are reading the creation of the jins,
it says that fire is like from the porous fire
meaning that the fire coming from the pores.
But Iblees did not say this,
he said I'm made from fire,
only fire he said you understand
what I am saying? Iblees did not say I am made
from a porous fire I am made from a
sunset fire or a corals fire,
he said I am made of fire he's made of sand.
You understand? But the jins are made from a fire
that has been produced by corals,
and the fire that comes through the pores,
the jins are created and how is it we don't know?
We are created from teen how?
We don't know.
We are created from water, how?
We don't know.
There are so many things we don't know.
But we should put something into the
Quran which is not there.
Now the next
I am reading,
Now that means that no one is a witness to
his own creation how I was created
Allah says that you are not a witness
to your own creation, nor you are the witness
of the skies and the earth.
So how did Iblees said that you
created me from fire? how?
Because he's deluding you.
So he is deluding you.
Q: So this means that Surah Saad 38:76
was just an argument by Iblees to confront Allah?
A: Not Allah, to delude us.
Not Allah, Allah knows that he was deluding us,
the human beings.
the human beings.
