hi
I'm Emily Pratt and today I'm going to teach you how to shoot a free throw
So free throws can be a bit scary because you are the only one shooting
but don't worry, you have 10 seconds at the line to get yourself calm cool and collected
So the first step in shooting a free throw is the routine. The routine
is very important you want to do it every time and that way you get in the mindset of shooting a free throw every time you practice
so it's game like and once you get to the game it will be nice and simple
so my routine is two simple dribbles. It's just like this, then I get ready to shoot. But it could be anything you want, two dribbles
or spinning the ball to yourself, as long as it is the same thing every time.
so after your routine all you have to do is simply shoot. The next thing that you want to think about while you're shooting
is that there is a cookie jar on top of your refrigerator and that you're reaching up to grab it that way you hold your follow through
so you just do your routine, shoot it, and get that cookie
So putting it all together it looks like this
So there you have it. Free throws are as simple as going to the line, getting yourself calm cool and collected, doing your routine, and shooting a free throw
Now you too can shoot free throws!
