KRISTAL: Hi, Kristal Wick here with Artbeads Cafe and I have Cynthia with me.
CYNTHIA: Hi! KRISTAL: Hi Cynthia! We're here to share some
really fun beady delights with you, my Beady Peeps. So pick up a cup of coffee and join
us! Now Cynthia, I think we have some really fun products here that I'd like you to tell
me about. Because I have a few favorites in here I got to know about these.
CYNTHIA: This is from the Nunn Design new collection.
KRISTAL: Ah. CYNTHIA: It is really pretty and I love the
new bangles that she has. KRISTAL: Those are really nice!
CYNTHIA: And then you have some really pretty charms. Some bird charms, here you have some
flowers with a crystal in the middle-- KRISTAL: Oh, look at that!
CYNTHIA: Don't you love those? KRISTAL: Yes!
CYNTHIA: I think they look really great. KRISTAL: They are and they're kind of like
generic pods, aren't they? Kind of like flower pods.
CYNTHIA: Exactly. KRISTAL: Oh, those are fun.
CYNTHIA: And what is fun also is everything comes in four different finishes.
KRISTAL: Oooh that is a good thing, 'cause you're never sure which one you want to use,
right? Do you have a favorite finish? CYNTHIA: I do, I think it's antique silver,
actually. KRISTAL: Yeah, I think mine's antique copper.
CYNTHIA: You like antique copper? Okay! KRISTAL: Those are great, Cynthia! Thanks
for sharing them with us. KRISTAL: Okay so I'm excited to share with
you Kristal Wick's Picks. This is where I get to pick my favorite goodies and show them
to you. So I'd like to share them with you too, Cynthia!
CYNTHIA: Okay. KRISTAL: Kristal Wick's Picks this time is
Crystal Clay. Get it? Kristal Wick's Picks, Crystal Clay, you guys with me? Yeah, I know.
(laughs) CYNTHIA: (laughs)
KRISTAL: Okay, so Crystal Clay. Wonderful, wonderful, fun stuff to use. I just wrote
a book called "Foxy Epoxy" and it's all about Crystal Clay and the different things you
can do with Crystal Clay. And as you can see here we have some fabulous samples if I may
say so myself. Over-the-top-bracelet filled with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, Crystal Clay, pearls--
but then we also have some of the simpler versions that you may wear to the office or
a night on the town with your LBD, little black dress. And Cynthia made these. Cynthia,
tell me a little bit about what you did here with those cute bangles.
CYNTHIA: Well, what I did was I used the Crystal Clay and I just put it all around the bangle,
and used the chatons and pushed them in. KRISTAL: Oh, so you pushed the chatons in.
KRISTAL: Yes, right. KRISTAL: And the chatons are the crystals
that have the pokey part on the back so it pokes into the clay and it stays, as opposed
to the flatbacks which are just flat. So, as you can see we have some really pretty
piles of the colors here. So, gosh, I can't even tell you how much fun playing with the
Crystal Clay is. A little addictive, would you say?
CYNTHIA: Oh yes, oh yes! KRISTAL: Very hard to stop. So, you have been
warned, Beady Peeps. So anyway, that's the fun Kristal Wick's Picks for this time. So
now, let's go onto-- CYNTHIA: The Q&A.
KRISTAL: Q&A! CYNTHIA: The question of the day! So, what
do you do when they clay starts to dry? KRISTAL: That is a good question because it
happens to everybody. When the Crystal Clay starts to dry, it can dry out. Now, once you've
mixed the two parts together--it's a part A and a part B--and you mix them together,
and it dries, you're good to go. It's done. It's cement.
CYNTHIA: Okay. KRISTAL: So a lot of times what I do is I
have spare parts on the side when I'm mixing Crystal Clay. In case I have some extras,
I push them into the spare parts, add a few crystals and then I make more components.
But if it does dry out while it's in part A and part B, you can put it in a baggie,
and put the baggie in hot water for about a minute. Pull it out and then it should loosen
up and be soft again and then you're able to mix your two parts together.
CYNTHIA: Oh, wow! Great! KRISTAL: Isn't that a good tip?
CYNTHIA: Yeah! KRISTAL: Yeah, because it will dry out, it's
very common. So, no worries if it does, you can fix it.
CYNTHIA: Well, thank you. KRISTAL: Yeah! Sure! Gosh! We have been having
a good time here with Artbeads Cafe. Thanks for joining us. And again, if you have any
questions you want to ask, feel free to let us know at Artbeads.com. Happy beading!
