I'm Robyn Heirtzler, owner of Sweet Mercy, and I'm going to show you in a series of eight
videos how to do these awesome flower cupcakes. We've got the purple, the rose, this beautiful
white pearly thing and of course, your shrubbery (because everybody needs shrubbery). So, anyway,
check them all out. If I can make these I'm pretty sure anybody can. They're very simple,
but, you know, done the right way, they can look quite elegant.
Alright, we're going to make a purple flower this time. We're using a Wilton rose tip.
This is a smaller rose tip (Wilton 125). We're going to keep the fat end of the tip toward
the cupcake at all times. And we're just going to start at the outer edge, and one thing
I've found is useful especially is to just go ahead and fill in that outer edge a little
bit. It's going to help seal in the moisture. There we go. You can frost the entire top
of the cupcake if you want but as long as the outer edge is sealed the rest will be
covered up with icing. So start with the fat edge against the cupcake and you're going to make
these cute little loops like this. And the more pressure you put, the more they'll curl
up so you can make quite a few different cupcakes using this same technique and get a different
look every time. If you're going for a whole series of cupcakes that look the same, practice
first so that you make sure and use the same amount of pressure and get the same look every
single time. This is a beautiful cupcake. Very, very simple, and just keep going around
until each layer's done and then just a little smaller as you get to the top.
You will have a little bit of a rough finish on top. Go ahead and just disguise that a little bit
with some of these sugar pearls. Just like that. And there you go. Beautiful,
easy purple flower cupcake.
