In 2001, I fell in love with the Midnight Madness programme.
Ever since then, I've been volunteering every year.
Someone who's considering volunteering should take a look at
all the different types of jobs. There are so many different things to do.
A lot of the time when people think of volunteering
they think of just the theatre volunteers,
but there's so much stuff going on in the departments.
There's definitely a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff.
Yeah, a lot of work to be done.
I kinda look at it like 10 days of the festival are different opportunities
to experience 10 or 20 different things.
You get to meet so many people, it's so awesome.
Sachin: It's like that one week out of the year when you can do nothing,
but talk movies with people.
It's movie Christmas!
Sachin: Yeah, it is! It gets so busy and it's so exciting!
It's so much fun.
It's a real community of people.
Bring a snack!
Bring a pair of socks!
It's important to click that job description button.
It'll tell you everything you need from your dress code down to
what's around the surrounding areas, the subway stops.
You have to have a couple of days during the festival where you've got
no shifts, where you can do a solid day of movies.
of course, yeah... just non-stop.
Four is conservative in a day like we're talking about five or possibly
six if you can tack on a 'Midnight Madness.'
It's a lot more fun being a part of it.
It's such a unique experience even on a day-to-day basis
like you go to every one of those screenings and you see that
little trailer for the volunteers and you see an audience of people
applauding for your efforts. It makes you feel good.
