Hi everybody I'm John Graden. I'm a professional speaker, trainer and author of seven books
including the Impostor Syndrome. How do you write a rejection letter? Well no one likes
to be rejected. We want to make sure that we are conveying that we are not rejecting
the person, we're rejecting their level of qualifications and experience. Clearly in
today's world, any rejection letter that you write you want to clear through your HR department
but the truth is you want to make this short not sweet but short and to the point. But
very professional, very polite, and also encouraging this person to continue in their quest. So
it was a pleasure to meet you, one of the lines that I like to use with my companies
,is this is not a good fit for us right now or please understand that the reason we hired
this person is because they had more experience in this particular position then yourself
but we were very encouraged and I would give them some encouraging words to continue on
their quest to find the job of their dreams. I have built companies that in the last decade
have generated over thirty million dollars, I have lots of experience firing, hiring and
rejecting. Nobody likes rejection so let's make sure we are not rejecting the person,
but we are rejecting the experience and qualifications. I'm John Graden and I hope that helps, thanks.
