I feel like inside of my heart there is a seed that wants to be shared
so I'm constantly triyng to find the way to say what's inside there
this thing inside of my heart tries to go out
like you know, Bukowski says he has a little blue bird in his heart
that every now he let's get out
that every now he let's get out
that every now he let's get out
and when it makes sound he says shhhh, go back inside!
and that's like how I feel.
it's my only thing in my whole space and every now I say Here it is!
My heart starts from the feelings that wants to go out of me
so when I start to paint is like I just start playing
with all colors. I make a frog here...
it comes itself
I always try to be opened to what the painting wants to be
instead of me telling the painting you will be this.
I'd rather ask "what are you?".
and be opened to what the painting want to be.
There is a lot of fairy tales in your art...
Yes but not traditional fairy tales
as Alice in Wonderland. I don't want to borrow from
Pop Culture, I want to invent my own culture
and be true to what happen inside of me
instead of telling here is Mickey Mouse and Popeye
aren't they cool?
I'd rather show something I found
they are weird, look at them!Aren't they strange together?
I don't want to work on images that already exist.
I think that it could be a sign of a lazy in mind.
I would rather be open to what happens around
maybe a cat drinking coffee
or whateve happens
and means what the painting wants to be.
This piece is called Anthologia
which is a reinterpretation of the story of Ophelia.
Ophelia drowned herself in a river, it's a very sad story
but what happens after?
Then she is death, she opens her eyes
she looks around and touches
the new world, of more love and colours
This is Ophelia's awakening into a world
that I wish for her.
This one for one day I just do the red, the red and the red
than I stopped and I said ok, for today that's enough.
I don't need to...
I always say I don't have to finish it today.
Today I have to be true with it, because if you want to finish you force.
I have to make the hair, the hair!
If you just stay open they will tell you don't touch my hair!
Sometimes I work on 7 or 8 paintings at the same time
When I started this, I just make this hole and my question was What this circle is going to be?
It's a milk jug, an egg, I don't know, I just play.
I started to see a skateboarder
so this skateboarder perhaps will fall
but in this moment...
I'm a skateboarder and there is a moment
before you fall you think Maybe I'll keep going!Maybe I will not fall!
so I think he will not fall but he will go into a new life.
To me, the womb of escape
and he that is going through is not a dream otherwise a possibility.
So this piece I named Into the light lost
it's based on a Yeats poem
I think it is about...
Imagine this woman, she's in her house with her clock
and suddenly someone knock at the door
the love of her life came back
and when she sees him her eyes...
she can't breath enough
this is the moment she thinks i'ts you! It's you!
so into this light I'm lost in our love.
