>>Randy: Hello, my name is Randy. I am here today with uniquevanities.com. Our “Ask
the Contractor” question is, “What is a pop up drain?”
I have here a couple of pop ups. It's essentially a way to stop the water in the sink without
using a drain that has the plunger in between the faucet handles that would pop it up and
down. These just simply push to open or push to close to stop the water.
This here has the capability for an overflow that is meant for a normal sink that has the
overflow built into it, so there is no need to worry about overflowing the sink. They
come in all different finishes that you may need.
This one again is just a little bit smaller but it has the overflow capability to it as
well. Push it to stop. Push it to open.
If you don't need to stop the water in your sink or if you have a thin sink like a copper
sink, this is basically what would be used in say a bar sink or something like that,
where you don't ever need to stop the water or fill the sink with water. This is just
a great drain. There's no overflow capabilities here, but the nut that holds it on here will
actually tighten all the way up to the top of the grid, so again, it will accommodate
a thin sink such as copper or metal sink.
I hope this cleared things up. If you have any other questions, you can call us at (866)
