So once your piglets are able to be on their own and are not still nursing their mother,
they grow really rapidly and because of this your feed has to increase significantly as
well to meet those growing needs. With their growing, they are very playful. Some people
put just like dog toys in with them to keep them from rooting so much in their land. Some
farmer's put bowling balls in with them so they can root around with the balls. But they
are very playful. This is why some people get them as pets but they grow awful quick,
rapidly. In about 6 months time is when it is butchering time or take them to market
is about 6 months because mostly because sometimes they just get too big for the farmer to keep
going in there and keep feeding them. So it is a good time when you can tell by the pig's
going in with them if it is time to be taken to market or if you need to sell them to another
farmer who can house them.
