JACOB SOBOROFF: Hey, it's Jacob.
Today we are storming embassies and rockin' politics.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
MALE SPEAKER: 2014 gonna be tasty, y'all.
JACOB SOBOROFF: This is "YouTube Nation."
Today we've got an extra special guest
to introduce an extra special video-- MysteryGuitarMan.
JOE PENNA: You've heard of the Gregory Brothers?
JACOB SOBOROFF: The dudes behind the "Bed Intruder Song."
JOE PENNA: They just did it again.
They take legit news footage, auto-tune the voices,
and add a backing track.
They do it so well that they even make Bill O'Reilly funny.
[MUSIC- SCHMOYOHO, "AMERICA GONE TO POT"]
JOE PENNA: Their harmonies are pitch perfect.
They've been making videos since 2006.
JACOB SOBOROFF: They have more than 570 million views.
JOE PENNA: This ones got Nice Peter and KassemG
rocking out in the House of Representatives.
JACOB SOBOROFF: The only place to rock out.
[MUSIC- SCHMOYOHO, "AMERICA GONE TO POT"]
JACOB SOBOROFF: We collected their greatest hits
in a playlist for you after the show.
JOE PENNA: Stick around for that, and I'll be back a little
bit later.
ALEX: I rode a motorbike once, almost broke my arm,
haven't done it since.
But even that won't stop me from watching
a guy take his bike out for a spin on top of a building.
Chris Northover is the Road Test Editor
for "SuperBike" magazine.
And he decided that the abandoned Russian consulate
in London would be a great place to almost die.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
ALEX: This video's been all over my feeds today,
and it's made me want to try motor biking again.
No, that's a lie.
JACOB SOBOROFF: Vas Alli proposed
to his fiancee last Christmas Eve.
But this Christmas, he wanted to do something even more special.
He dug through their attic.
He found the piece of her childhood teddy bear,
and he had it perfectly reconstructed.
What follows is pure joy.
JESSICA: Oh my god.
[INAUDIBLE]
FEMALE SPEAKER: I know what it is.
JESSICA: Oh my god.
Oh my god, it's ***.
JACOB SOBOROFF: This video is all over the place right now.
What's the greatest present that you've ever gotten?
Let us know in the comments.
Mine's an electric leaf blower.
I don't know.
My wife gave it to me, and I like to blow leaves.
CARLY: I feel like this video was equally needed
by four-year-old Carly as it now is by grown-up Carly.
LUCY: I don't care if you don't think you're beautiful.
You are.
You are a living, breathing, intricate machine
with the ability to love and to laugh and to cry.
You have empathy.
You have kindness.
And anyone who takes time to be kind is beautiful.
You are capable of doing so much.
Who cares if your eyebrows are wonky.
CARLY: Lucy is one half of kaelynandlucy,
the channel she runs with her long distance girlfriend.
My friend sent me this earlier today,
and I subscribed even before the video was over.
JOE PENNA: What's up, guys?
It's Joe again.
And the reason why I love YouTube so much
is because I get to collaborate so easily.
Sometimes with a whole lot of people--
sometimes just one person, like this video
that I did with Mike Diva.
This video is called "Robot Dubstep,"
and you actually get to find out I am a robot.
It's a documentary.
[MUSIC, MIKE DIVA, "ROBOT DUBSTEP"]
JOE PENNA: Sometimes I do even bigger collaborations,
like this video that I did called "Worldwide Scavenger
Hunt."
I asked you guys to hide over 3,000 stickers in 200
different countries.
People would find crazy places to put the stickers up.
I'm doing another big collaboration right now,
and it's called "Mass Beat Box."
All you've got to do is make a video of yourself beat boxing--
[BEAT_BOX_NOISES]-- upload it to YouTube with the hashtag
#MASSBEATBOX, and I'm going to edit it all into one big epic
video.
Right now we have a couple hundred submissions,
but you only have two days left.
JACOB SOBOROFF: We've been asking you
guys to tell us what to put into the show,
and Marius Etienne hit us up on Facebook
to turn us on to his electro swing moves.
[MUSIC-_WHYNOT,_"DRAMOPHONE"]
JACOB SOBOROFF: Your turn, guys.
Make a short video talking about a video that you love,
and post it with the hashtag #YOUTUBENATION.
Until tomorrow, guys, links are below.
Playlists are about to pop up.
Do not forget to hit Subscribe.
JOE PENNA: Actually, can I try it?
JACOB SOBOROFF: Go for it.
JOE PENNA: All right, play us out, Stromae.
