With your library account you can see what you have checked out,
renew books or other materials, or view your requests for holds
and UBorrow. To get to your library account,
start on the library homepage. Click on the "Books/Catalog"
option on the right side of the page. From here
you have two options to log into your account. To use your UCF
card to login, click on the "Courtesy Account (library ID)" link.
Your library ID number can be found on your student ID,
also known as your UCF card. It is the number located at the bottom of the card
and always begins with 2210. Your password will be the last four digits
of your PID. Your other option is to log in using your PID
by clicking the "renewals/library account(PID)" link.
Type in your PID and password. Then click "Sign on."
If you don't know your PID or password,
use the link below the login to find out. To view the books or media you
currently have checked out
or to renew a book, click on "loans/ renewals."
The screen will show a list of the titles you have checked out,
the location you checked them out from, and the due date.
You can renew titles individually by clicking the "renew" button next to the
title.
Or you can renew them all at once by clicking the "renewal all UCF items"
button.
The new due date will be displayed on the right. When logged in to your library
account
you can also request a book or other item that is already checked out from the
library catalog.
This is called placing a hold. To get to the catalog from OneSearch, click on the
"Catalog Information" link.
Once you're in the library catalog, click on the
"Place a Hold" link
next to the due date of the item you want.
Once you place a hold on the book the library will ask the current borrower
to return the book.
Once the item is returned, you will be notified by email,
and it will be held for you at the Circulation Desk. The process can take
anywhere from one day to three weeks
so plan accordingly. To check on the status of a request
simply log in and click the "Requests" button. From the request screen.
you can see the status of your hold. In this case I am the third person to place
a hold on this book,
I'll pick it up at the Main Library, and my request will expire
in July. When you finish using your account remember to sign out
and close your browser.
