Natasha: Many of us should have emergency preparedness kits in our home. If you don't
then now is a good time to put one together. But it's not just your home that should have
one because a disaster can happen while we're at work and in our car.
You can use a backpack to store things like a first-aid kit, water and MRE's, glow sticks
and blankets. Also think about having a kit in the office.
Many locations throughout LG&E and KU have these emergency preparedness kits. It includes
things like gloves, a pry bar, a crank powered flash light, candles and matches and whistle
to help alert emergency responders to your location.
Think about having a separate kit filled with enough MRE's and water for all the employees
to last a few days. For more information about National Preparedness
Month and additional tips, visit our website and company Facebook page.
